A physics seminar by Thelma Berquo will be presented Friday, Feb. 11 at 2:30 p.m. in Hagen 325. The topic: Iron phases that previously were identified as ‘amorphous’ colloidal compounds in geological systems are now recognized as nanoparticles of iron oxyhydroxides. Detection and characterization of such nanoparticles has been made possible by advances in interdisciplinary research.
