Nanotechnology research topic of April 1 seminar

An MSUM physics seminar on “Materials and Nanotechnology Research at NDSU” will be held Friday, April 1 at 2:30 p.m. in Hagen 325. Dr. Erik Hobbie from NDSU’s Department of Physics will be the guest speaker.

An overview of some of the opportunities for graduate study in Materials and Nanotechnology at NDSU, both at the Ph.D. and Master’s degree level, will be presented. In particular, Hobbie will describe recent examples of experimental work done by first-year graduate students in his research group, and will discuss the underlying motivation in terms that are accessible to undergraduate physics majors. The potential career opportunities enabled by this type of graduate study will also be discussed.
