Adam Goyt, Mathematics, had the paper “Avoiding Colored Partitions of Lengths Two and Three” accepted for publication in the Permutation Patterns 2010 Proceedings edition of the journal Pure Mathematics and Applications. This is joint work with Lara K. Pudwell (Valparaiso University).
Wally Sizer, Mathematics, attended an international conference on Differential and Difference Equations at the University of the Azores, Ponta Delgada, Portugal, July 4-8. The conference was attended by about 200 mathematicians from over 35 countries. Sizer presented the paper, “Period Two Solutions to Some Rational Difference Equations.” He also chaired a contributed paper session.

Wally Sizer, Mathematics, was awarded the 2011 North Central Section of the Mathematical Association of America Certificate for Meritorious Service at the April 16 NCS/MAA meeting at Carleton College.
