Join the Library’s Banned Books Reading Group for “Out of Darkness”

Monday, March 25 | Noon to 1 p.m. | Library Porch (LI 100)

The library is co-hosting a Banned Books Reading Group event with the Women’s Center on Monday, March 25, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Library Porch. In a time of intense political polarizatoon, library staff in every state are facing an unprecedented number of attempts to ban books. When we ban books, we’re closing off readers to people, places, and perspectives. But when we stand up for stories, we unleash the power that lies inside every book. We liberate the array of voices that need to be heard and the scenes that need to be seen.

We invite you to celebrate your freedom to read by joining our Banned Books Reading Group with fellow MSUM faculty, staff, and students. Bring your lunch and we’ll discuss Out of Darkness by Ashley Hope Pérez. For instructions on how to obtain a print or digital copy of the book, please see our DragonCentral event. Don’t forget to RSVP!
