Heads or Tails Raffle at the Spring Scholarship Gala

Participate in the Heads or Tails Raffle at the Spring Scholarship Gala April 8! For $25, you will receive a Scorch raffle paddle that will allow you to participate in three separate raffles during the event. Each raffle will consist of multiple rounds where each participant will use their paddle to select heads or tails. The emcee will flip a coin and announce the coin flip. Dragon Athletics’ Red & White Day Celebration

The Minnesota State University Moorhead Athletic Department’s 12th Annual Red and White Celebration is scheduled on Saturday, April 22 at Nemzek Hall. This year’s day events include a youth soccer clinic, open swim, volleyball scrimmages, football spring scrimmage. Volunteers needed for on-campus event for local high school students

MSUM is hosting a new event for high school students called “College Connections Careers” on Thursday, March 30. This event is an opportunity for local high school students to interact with local professionals and employers to learn about the connection between college and careers.

To make this event an success we need volunteers for a few things: transferring high school students from session to session around campus (about a 20 minute task between sessions) and then college students to chat with the high school students during lunch (you would get lunch as well). Music professors perform at FMSO PDQ Bach Chamber Concert

Dr. Monte Grisé and Dr. Kenyon Williams will perform this Sunday for the Fargo Moorhead Symphony’s Chamber Concert event, “April Foolin’ With PDQ Bach.” This musical-comedy concert is guaranteed to leave you laughing while enjoying the antics of the “Weird Al” of classical music, PDQ Bach. The concert will feature music such as PDQ’s infamous “Schleptet,” “Organ Prelude: Agnus Dei et Ave Maria” and “Largo alla Fargo” (because parts of it sound like a woodchipper). Woodlands and High Plains Powwow

The 28th annual Woodlands and High Plains Powwow will be held April 1, 2017, in Nemzek Fieldhouse on the Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) campus. This year’s theme is “Mni Wiconi (Water is Life): Standing Together.” The WHPP is sponsored by MSUM, Concordia College, Minnesota State Community and Technical College Moorhead (M State), and North Dakota State University (NDSU).

A traditional powwow is a time to celebrate and renew friendships. In addition, this powwow celebrates the educational experiences of American Indian students in higher education and the sharing of tribal cultures in the FM area.  Read the rest of this entry →

Transfer Pathways update

Another group of Transfer Pathways are soon ready for input from stakeholders in the two year Minnesota State Colleges and the four year Minnesota State Universities. The Transfer Pathways are designed so students utilizing one would enter any Minnesota State university with a parallel baccalaureate degree as a junior with the first 60 credits complete. Discipline Stakeholders Meetings will be held at Anoka Ramsey Community College in Coon Rapids for sessions on March 27 – 30 and at Normandale Community College for the sessions on March 31. You are welcome to attend in person or by WebEx. Please register by March 24 no matter how you will attend.
