Marie Veillette, December 2015 MSUM graduate, received notification that a paper she wrote as an undergraduate will be published in an upcoming issue of the “Undergraduate Economic Review.” 

“The value of life: Explaining high spending on end-of-life care,” was developed as part of an Issues in Health Care Economics course taught by Dr. T. J. Hansen. After completing an English and Mass Communications combined major and an Economics minor at MSUM, Veillette joined Flint Group in Fargo as a regional marketing director with the AGCO Direct team.

Veillette’s paper will be accessible at the journal’s website ( in the near future. She is the seventh MSUM undergraduate to have research accepted for publication in this journal since 2005.
