Sherry Lee Short presented to EnACTing TransNational SEED

Sherry Lee Short, Professor in the School of Visual Arts, gave a presentation titled “Disabilization and Subjugation: Reflections on Conquering the Wild” to EnACTing TransNational SEED (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity). EnACTing TransNational SEED is a year-long seminar exploring notions of disability as central to systems of domination and privilege. Short is also a participant in the regional SEED group, which has a sister relationship with a SEED group working in Uganda. Short’s presentation explored ways in which environmental destruction, able-ism, racism, and speciesism interact in our response to the natural world and to the minds and bodies of the human animal. The presentation was given at NDSU on November 19.
