Alumna Barbara La Valleur exhibiting five decades of photographs from photojournalism career

Barbara La Valleur, a 1972 Mass Communications graduate, will be exhibiting five decades of photographs from her photojournalism career. The exhibit runs from Dec. 5, 2014 to Feb. 28, 2015 at the Edina Senior Center, 5280 Grandview Square, Edina, MN. The opening reception is Friday, Dec. 5 from 5:00-6:30 p.m.
La Valleur won a 1937 Chevy as a 15-year-old high school freshman which she promptly sold to buy a typewriter and went on to become an international award winning photojournalist. She has worked in MN, ND, TN, the US Virgin Islands and Germany where she freelanced for seven German newspapers. Now retired and living with her husband, Arnie Bigbee, in Edina, she serves as Public Art Chair and is on the Edina Arts and Culture Commission. This exhibit covers five decades of her photojournalism career; includes black and white, color, digital, canvas and iPhone photos. Many of her photos are for sale.
