Kenyon Williams performs as featured soloist/arranger this Holiday Season

Dr. Kenyon Williams, Associate Professor of Percussion, will be participating in two outstanding holiday events as a featured performer and composer this Christmas season. As Principle Percussionist with the Fargo Moorhead Symphony, he will be performing as a featured xylophone soloist for the “Holiday Pops” Christmas Concert at the Fargo Theatre on Thurs. Dec. 17th and Sat. Dec. 19th. He will also be performing with the Bethel Evangelical Free Church’s production of “Christmas in the Red,” an all-original musical written by MSUM adjunct Communications faculty member Ginger Williams and featuring MSUM vocal performance major Ian Laluhm and theatre arts major James Stinsman as lead performers on Thursday Dec. 10th through Saturday Dec. 12th at Bethel Church. “Fuego Tropical” Steel Drum and Salsa Ensemble to perform for FM Chamber of Commerce.

MSUM’s own steel drum and salsa ensemble “Fuego Tropical,” directed by Dr. Kenyon Williams, has been invited to perform this Tuesday evening, Sept. 15 at Trollwood Performing Arts School in Moorhead for the FM Chamber of Commerce member appreciation night. The ensemble will perform from 6-7:30 p.m. rain or shine for the Chamber of Commerce members and their families in a festive, carnival atmosphere celebrating the accomplishments of the region’s businessmen and women.

Williams Performs, Recruits in ND

Kenyon Williams, Music, percussionist, had an active summer as a representative and recruiter for the MSUM Department of Music while he presented performances and clinics across North Dakota. In June, Dr. Williams was invited to work with students at the Yamaha “Sounds of Summer” percussion workshop in Williston, N.D., where he worked with 50+ high school students from North Dakota and Montana.
