Drumset artist Mike Clark presents free clinic, presentation
Famed jazz/funk/fusion drumset artist Mike Clark will present a drumset clinic and open-format discussion at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11 in MSUM’s Fox Recital Hall.
After receiving international acclaim for his work with Herbie Hancock’s Headhunters, Mr. Clark, known as “the most sampled drummer in hip hop,” has performed with notable artists from a variety of genres, including Chet Baker, Wayne Shorter, and many more.
His appearance, organized by the MSUM Percussion Studio directed by Dr. Kenyon Williams, will climax Friday evening in a performance with the Simon Rowe Trio at Studio 222 in downtown Fargo (222 Broadway). Admission for the afternoon clinic/presentation is free; admission to Studio 222 is $10 for adults and $5 for students with ID.
