MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead Athletics Department announced Thursday that the 6th annual Dragon Fire Walk for Athletics is scheduled for April 15-16, 2011.
The annual event will again benefit the Dragon Athletics scholarships general fund. This two-day event has become a feature celebration for friends, supporters and alumni of MSUM.
Three Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragon student-athletes have been honored by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference as Athletes of the Week. Wrestler Evan Forde, women’s basketball player Angie Jetvig and runner Jessica Keesling have all been honored.
On Saturday, Feb. 19, the Dragon Athletics Department will host MSUM Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day at Dragon basketball. Each member of the faculty/staff that presents his or her Dragon ID at the ticket window will get Buy-One, Get-One tickets. For the price of $7, you can get you and a guest into the Dragon Basketball game.
On Saturday, Feb. 19, the Dragon Athletics Department will host the biggest give-a-way in department history. The Dragons will give-a-way a brand new 2011 Volkswagen Jetta, an Apple iPad and over $2,000 in prizes and gift cards, all while attempting to set the Nemzek Hall basketball attendance record. Thursday, February 10, will continue with Go Pink with the Dragons events. Ann Dolence, a LCSC Wllness Facilitator will be hosting “Coaching Yourself to a Lifetime of Wellness.” Ann Dolence is a LCSC Wellness Facilitator & Spring Forest Qigong Level 1 Master Healer and a CTRS Certified Wellness Coach (ACSM). The event will be at 7 p.m. in the Science Lab, Room 118. This event is Free & Open to the Public.
