Dragon women ranked 3rd in first Central Region rankings
The Minnesota State University Moorhead women’s basketball team is ranked third in the first Central Region rankings released on Wednesday by the NCAA.
The Dragons are 21-3 and share the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference lead with Augustana with an 18-2 mark. MSUM has won 15 games in a row, tying the second-longest winning streak in school history.
Southwestern Oklahoma State of the Great American Conference is ranked No. 1 with a 22-1 mark, followed by Central Missouri of the MIAA at 20-2. MSUM is third, followed by Augustana (21-2) and fellow NSIC school Northern State (21-4)
Automatic bids are awarded to the winner of the NSIC, MIAA and GAC tournaments. The other five remaining spots are at-large berths.
MSU hosts St. Cloud State on Friday at 6 p.m.
