MSUM Students Working as Paid Interns at the International Water Institute

Gary George and Tyler Solberg have completed most of their coursework for MSUM’s GIS Certificate and are already applying their newly acquired skills as paid interns at the International Water Institute in Fargo, North Dakota. The institute is a 501(c)(3) organization that is primarily concerned with mitigating flood damage and protecting and/or enhancing water resources throughout the Red River Valley. Research and training involving geographic information systems (GIS) are critical components of many activities at the institute. Gary and Tyler started working at the institute in January of 2016 and are directly involved with GIS-related activities. This excellent opportunity for students to practice their existing skills and learn new technical skills in a practical work environment is a result of a partnership between MSUM’s Center for Geospatial Research and the International Water Institute.
