Accessibility Tip: Accessibility+ Update and Trainings
As we prepare to launch Accessibility+ in D2L Brightspace, faculty are encouraged to participate in upcoming training opportunities beginning as early as this week. Below is an overview of the updated timeline, training options, and available support resources.
Timeline
- Now–Early February: Online Learning is completing final technical setup and testing.
- Early–Mid February: Faculty will receive initial access to Accessibility+ in D2L Brightspace (exact date forthcoming).
The tool will be enabled in Development & Ongoing, Summer 2026, and Fall 2026 courses. To avoid disruption, Spring 2026 courses will not receive the tool until the end of the term. - Now–Spring Semester: Informational sessions and training will continue throughout the spring. Core Accessibility+ features will be available at launch, with advanced features added incrementally.
Training Sessions
Training is jointly provided by the Online Learning team and MinnState’s NED, covering both Accessibility+ functionality and general digital accessibility best practices. Topics include an introduction to the tool and creating accessible documents, slides, PDFs, and videos.
- Register in Dragon Central for in‑person orientation and training with Q&A. Please bring your laptop for hands‑on support.
- If you cannot attend in person, register directly with the NED for online sessions.
- Visit the Event Resources section of the NED Resource Site for session slides and recordings.
