MSUM, Immigrant Development Center host Pathway to MSUM on April 27

Saturday, April 27 | 2 to 5 p.m. | Roland Dille Center for the Arts

In collaboration with the Immigrant Development Center (IDC) in Moorhead, Minnesota State University Moorhead is hosting Pathway to MSUM on Saturday, April 27, from 2 to 5 p.m. in the university’s Roland Dille Center for the Arts.

The event will introduce immigrant and refugee high school students and their families to higher education and build awareness about MSUM.

“The success of our campus and community is intrinsically linked to the success of our students and residents. Providing access and opportunity to those historically underrepresented in higher education is an operational framework at MSUM,” said Jered Pigeon, MSUM’s Campus Diversity Officer. “There is a direct correlation between higher levels of education and many positive life benefits, including higher earning potential, improved confidence, career advancement and a happier life. Meeting our equity recruitment and graduation goals is a moral and workforce imperative. To meet our workforce demands, we must graduate more people from diverse communities.”

Resources will be available in the Center for the Arts Annex to assist families in navigating the college search and application process, including admissions and support services and campus tours.

The event is free and open to all.

The Center for the Arts is at 801 13th St. S., Moorhead. Free parking is available to the east of the building. Campus maps: https://www.mnstate.edu/maps/
