Guest Artist Steve Smith Joins MSUM Jazz, Commercial and Faculty Ensembles
Steve Smith, former drummer with Journey and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member, will join the MSUM Jazz, Commercial and Faculty Jazz Combo Ensembles for a night of music.
The event will take place in the Hansen Theatre Thursday, March 31 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $10 per person and are free for MSUM students.
Over the past 45 years Steve Smith has toured and recorded with some of the biggest names in jazz and rock: including Journey, Bryan Adams, Mariah Carey, Zucchero and Jean-Luc Ponty. He is currently a band leader (Steve Smith and Vital Information), featured sideman (Mike Stern Group, Zakir Hussain’s Masters of Percussion, Steps Ahead, Hiromi-The Trio Project) and educator.
