Welcome to the #DragonFamily: Megan Jensen

Meet MSUM’s new instructor of mathematics, Megan Jensen. She is excited to work with the students!

Start date: August 26, 2019

Q: What drew you to MSUM?
A: I actually did my undergraduate degree here at MSUM in math education, so I was familiar with the department and everything and this was my dream job.

Q: What energizes you at work?
A: When students are really understanding, so especially if it’s something they’ve struggled in for awhile. When you see them have the light bulb, even what’s on my board right now, that was a student who finally got the light bulb and I was like, “Yep, you got it. You nailed it. It’s awesome.” And that’s just nice to see when they finally get it.

Q: If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
A: Probably the Swiss Alps, because I like history and I also love mountains and lakes and everything. You get both there.

Q: What is one thing that surprised you about MSUM?
A: I would say one thing that surprises you is the sense of community that you can build here at MSUM. Not only community with the students, but the faculty with the students and even the faculty members as well.

Q: What energizes you outside of work?
A: I have a puppy. She makes me have quite a bit of energy. And I play volleyball as well.

Welcome to the #DragonFamily, Megan. We’re happy you’re here!
