Dr. Nawrot’s paper accepted for publication in Journal of Vision

Dr. Lisa Nawrot (interim Dean for CSHE) has a paper accepted for publication in the Journal of Vision. The article “Convergence and Divergence to Radial Optic Flow in Infancy” is based on data collected from more than 100 infants tested at the MSUM Child Development Lab with the involvement of undergraduate students. The research uses infra-red eye tracking to precisely measure eye movement responses to expanding and contracting visual motion. The results demonstrate that infants are capable of responding to this particular sort of visual information that specifies relative depth, and is among the earliest demonstrations of this ability in infants as young as eight weeks-of-age. The paper is Dr. Nawrot’s third publication on this research and has been supported by a grant from the National Institutes of Health.
