55th Season of Straw Hat Players
The 55th anniversary season of the Straw Hat Players Summer Theatre opened May 29 with the musical How to Talk Minnesotan.
The second show in the summer line-up was the nostalgia-filled revue All Hands On Deck!, which ran June 5 to 8 on the Gaede Stage. The music featured singing and dancing based on Bob Hope’s 1942 USO tour to the troops.
The Last Five Years ran June 12 to 15 on the Gaede Stage. This musical is an emotionally powerful look at two New Yorkers who fall in and out of love over the course of five years.
The season closes with Guys and Dolls, hailed as one of the best musical comedies ever composed. Guys and Dolls runs June 19 to 22 on the Hansen Theatre stage.
