Minnesota State University Moorhead is holding several open forums as part of its periodic evaluation by its regional accreditation agency. The open forums for students, faculty, staff and the community will be held on MSUM’s campus Monday, April 24.

Staff Open Forum | 9 a.m. | CMU Ballroom A
Faculty Open Forum | 3 p.m. | CMU
Student Open Forum | 4:15 p.m. | CMU Ballroom A
General Public Open Forum | 4:15 p.m. | CMU 205

The University is hosting a visit April 23-25, 2017, with a team representing the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). MSUM has been accredited by HLC since 1916. The team will review the institution’s ongoing ability to meeting HLC’s Criteria for Accreditation.

What is accreditation? Why does it matter?

Accreditation ensures the quality and integrity of MSUM’s programs and services, allows students to transfer credits to other accredited institutions, and enables students to obtain financial aid and veteran’s services; accreditation also allows MSUM to participate in federally funded projects and grants and guarantees MSUM’s ability to recruit and retain quality faculty and staff.
