Professional experiences over the summer include, but are not limited to, research. The students in this talk—Laura Maixner, Paige Meyer and Abel Tilahun—will describe the range of experiences available to students.

Laura Maixner did research at MSUM on developing a new software tool for analyzing data from MSUM’s telescope, supported by MSUM as a Strong Scholar.

Paige Meyer and Abel Tilahun each worked as interns, getting paid to do on-the-job learning at two different companies. Paige worked as a software engineer intern at Digi-Key Electronics. Abel interned at Bolton & Menk as a GIS Technician.

Each type of experience is useful for landing your first job or applying to graduate school.
