Alumni in Spotlight at The Ivey Awards

Several MSUM alumni recently caught the spotlight at The Ivey Awards, a celebration of the theatre community in the Twin Cities. The Ivey Awards Committee selects honorees that exemplify excellence within their craft over the last season. Each year’s ceremony features highlights from a few productions (chosen from hundreds staged over the past year) to perform a song or scene.

This year, Jamaica Meyer and the cast of Yellow Tree Theatre’s opened the show with a selection from Violet. Meagan Kedrowski performed in a scene from Savage Umbrella’s original production of June, and again with fellow alumnus Kelly Nelson in a scene of Theatre Coup D’etat’s Equus, which also received an Ivey Award. Joy Dolo, joined by the company Transatlantic Love Affair, shared a scene from their original work Emilie/Eurydice. And Tyler Michaels performed with members of Theatre Latte Da’s production of Gypsy. Michaels received the Emerging Artist Award several years ago, and is now on the selection committee.
