Visiting lecture gives talk on medievalism and mass media

Andrew Elliott, visiting faculty from Lincoln University in England, will give a lecture on Thursday, Nov. 7 entitled “Medievalism & Mass Media: Vikings, Templar Knights, and Climate Change.” Elliott’s studies cover the uses of the past in film, TV, and video games, and how and why the past is used as cultural capital to influence national identity, political debate, and extremism. This lecture is part of an annual exchange of students and faculty between MSUM and Lincoln. Join us in CB 109 at 7:30 p.m.; the lecture is free and open to the public.
