Comet ISON- Comet of the Century?

Once again skywatchers look to the sky, eagerly anticipating a bright comet. For centuries comets were seen as evil omens but now astronomers look forward to them as opportunities to learn more about the early history of our solar system.

Comet ISON was discovered in July 2012 and early predictions indicated that it might be the brightest comet in centuries. Will it live up to those predictions? How bright will it be and where can you look for it? Learn more about comets, where they come from and the latest updates on Comet ISON during MSUM’s November shows at the MSUM Planetarium.

MSUM Planetarium will present three more Comet ISON shows during November:

Nov. 11 at 7 p.m.
Nov. 17 at 2 p.m.
Nov. 18 at 7 p.m.

The children’s show, Sky Zoo, continues to play at 11 a.m. on Saturdays through Nov. 16.

General admission is $5. Admission for children (12 and under), Senior Citizens (62 and above) and Tri-college students is $2.50

The planetarium is located on the Minnesota State University Moorhead campus in Bridges Hall, Room 167 at 11th St. and 8th Ave. S in Moorhead, MN.
