Coming soon to a D2L near you: Upgrade to Version 10

Instructional Technology Services is excited to announce that Desire2Learn (D2L) will be upgraded to version 10 beginning tentatively at 5 a.m. CST on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012. We expect the upgrade to be complete by Saturday afternoon.

What does the Version 10 upgrade mean to you? In most cases, you will use D2L the same way you currently do. What has changed is its overall ‘look’ and how you navigate to and within your courses. The updated layout features a new navigation Minibar and drop-down menus. Version 10 also offers enhanced accessibility, more notification options for students, a “must-post-first” option in Discussions, new feedback options in Dropbox for faculty, among other enhancements.

Several existing D2L tools, including User Homepages, Articles, and Journal tools, will no longer be available in version 10.  If you use these tools in D2L, contact Instructional Technology for ideas on where to store your existing content.
