New York art exhibit reception Sept. 1
The Department of Art & Design, with support from the Office of Student Activities, invites the campus to the reception for Back in the New York Groove: Work from the Summer New York Art Experience, the inaugural exhibition of the 2011-12 school year. The reception will be held Thursday, Sept. 1 from 4 to 6 p.m. 4in the Roland Dille Center for Arts Gallery (CA 150).
The exhibition is the result of this summer’s New York Art Experience class. Twenty-two MSUM art students, lead by professors John Volk and Don Clark, spent four weeks visiting museums and artist’s studios. Students lived in NYU dorms and worked in studio spaces provided by the New York Academy of Art. They also spent a great deal of time photographing on the streets of New York.
