Important change to payment deadline for tuition & fees

Beginning fall semester 2011, the date by which students must have made a deposit, chosen a payment plan or released financial aid information to MSU Moorhead by filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will be 15 business days before the start of the semester: Aug. 1, 2011.

A student’s registration will be cancelled and he or she dropped from registered classes unless he or she does one of the following by August 1:

  • Makes at least a $300 down payment toward tuition and fees.
  • Releases financial information to MSU Moorhead by filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and selecting MSU Moorhead from the drop-down menu.
  • Chooses an approved tuition and fee payment plan.

Students may contract with Nelnet Business Solutions (NBS) to pay their bill in monthly installments. Contracting with NBS will prevent late fees, and aid will still be applied directly to the student’s bill. To sign-up, go to www.mnstate.edu, click on eServices, log in (ID and PIN required) and select Bills and Payment.

Full payment of all remaining tuition and fees is then due 25 business days after the start of the semester unless the student has obtained an approved tuition and fee payment plan. For fall semester 2011, the payment-in-full date is Sept. 26, 2011.
