Campus community: Thank You from Admissions

As you wind down the academic year, please accept my sincere appreciation for your help in recruiting students. Because of you and the efforts of many, we continue to meet freshman and transfer enrollment goals and increase MSUM’s market share in the shrinking regional pool of potential students. From Alumni and athletic partnerships to faculty and service outreach, you all add up to a robust recruitment effort.

This year, 3500+ students/families scheduled official campus tours, met with academic and student affairs departments and completed exit evaluations. Their responses were overwhelmingly positive. The visit scheduler built by IT provides significant tracking data that I will share as we plan for the years ahead.  Expect to see Admissions hosting lots of high school juniors, special groups, guidance counselors, teachers and transfers this summer.

Those of you not on campus don’t have to miss out on the action. Please share the good word with those you meet—friends at the lake, on vacation—you name it! Students/families share how impressed they are by faculty speaking in their hometowns, clubs, schools, etc. You never know when, or where, you can recruit a Dragon. Some of the best contacts come from the most unlikely places. We currently track and communicate with 28,000+ HS juniors and 20,000 sophomores, visit over 600 high schools annually, and attend a multitude of other community events. However, there are always more students we don’t know. If you have names to share,  please send them to us for further follow up  http://appserv.mnstate.edu/admissions/referral/

Thank you again and best wishes for a great summer!
