Short named Alice Paul Award Honoree

Sherry Lee Short, Professor in the School of Art, has been named as an Alice Paul Award Honoree. The Alice Paul Award is an historic list of women who have worked to end men’s violence against women in the United States. The Award was generated by the Feminist History Committee of the National Organization for Men Against Sexism. 

Sherry Lee Short presented to EnACTing TransNational SEED

Sherry Lee Short, Professor in the School of Visual Arts, gave a presentation titled “Disabilization and Subjugation: Reflections on Conquering the Wild” to EnACTing TransNational SEED (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity). EnACTing TransNational SEED is a year-long seminar exploring notions of disability as central to systems of domination and privilege.

A Solo Woman Backpacker

The third Women’s and Gender Studies Colloquium speaker for fall 2013 will be Sherry Lee Short. She will talk about solo backpacking from a personal and feminist perspective. Short is an Associate Professor in the Department of Art & Design and is the Director of Women’s and Gender Studies. BR 154, 11:30 a.m.-12:20 p.m., Friday, Nov. 22.

The first Fall 2013 Feminist Dialogues Brown Bag will take place Friday, Sept. 13, 11:30 a.m.-12:20 p.m., in Owens 201.
