Used Cell Phone Donation

The MSUM Economics Society and Soroptimist International of Moorhead are sponsoring a cell phone drive for the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center. The Center is able to re-program cell phones for access to 911. This free program gives women leaving an abusive situtation continuous access to the police. Please donate your used cell phone to help women in need! A drop box is located in the Economics Department office, MA 380.

Dragon Frost One-Ton Sundae February 9 in the Union

Come and enjoy FREE ice cream Tuesday, Feb. 9 from 10:30 a.m. 2:30 p.m. in the Comstock Memorial Union main lounge. One-Ton Sundae, one of many Dragon Frost activities, is sponsored by Comstock Memorial Union, Sodexo and Cass Clay Creamery. This event is free and open to MSUM students, staff and faculty. We will serve a variety of delicious ice creams and toppings to tantalize your taste buds.

Superstar Violinst Midori to Visit MSUM

Three young violinists with ties to MSUM perform for violin virtuoso Midori Thursday, Feb. 11 from 9:45-11:15 a.m. The masterclass takes place on Gaede Stage in the Roland Dille Center for the Arts on the MSUM campus. Performers are Bethany Moss, daughter of Kirk Moss, associate professor of music and director of orchestral activities and string education; Sam Schoenwald, son of Rebecca Sundet-Schoenwald, assistant to the dean of the College of Arts and Humanities; and Amy Boese, a student of MSUM violin teacher Benjamin Sung. The students, who auditioned for a place in the masterclass in November, will perform and receive feedback from Midori. The event is free and open to the public. Click headline for more information.

College students raise money for Haiti earthquake relief

Area college students are doing their part to help the people of Haiti. Students at Minnesota State University Moorhead formed a new group called Dragons for Haiti, which aims to raise $10,000. All money raised will benefit ShelterBox, an international disaster relief charity that delivers emergency supply boxes to crisis areas.
