Several MSUM alumni recently caught the spotlight at The Ivey Awards, a celebration of the theatre community in the Twin Cities. The Ivey Awards Committee selects honorees that exemplify excellence within their craft over the last season. Each year’s ceremony features highlights from a few productions (chosen from hundreds staged over the past year) to perform a song or scene.

The Counseling and Student Affairs’ Community Outreach Center will be promoted on 1100 AM’s morning show between 6 and 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 20. Clinic Coordinator and CNSA faculty Dr. Ken Messina provided an interview to promote the Community Outreach Center and MSUM.
Merrie Sue Holtan, communication and journalism, won two national writing awards from the National Federation of Presswomen. She placed first in sports writing and received honorable mention in home writing. The awards were presented at the national conference in Wichita, Kan.
