The Academic Affairs Council wants faculty to be aware of the following opportunity from the National Endowment for the Humanities: www.neh.gov/grants/research/summer-stipends Summer Stipends support individuals pursuing advanced research that is of value to humanities scholars, general audiences, or both. Recipients usually produce articles, monographs, books, digital materials, archaeological site reports, translations, editions, or other scholarly resources.
The Tri-College NEW (National Education for Women’s) Leadership Development Institute, coordinated by Dr. Deborah White, Sociology, was recently awarded a $10,000 grant from the Otto Bremer Foundation. The grant will be used to help fund the 2014 Institute.

A two-year $262,000 grant was recently awarded from the National Science Foundation’s Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program to co-PIs Tim Harms (Mathematics) and Alison Wallace (Biosciences). Senior personnel include: Linda Houts-Smith (Languages and Cultures), Richard Lahti (Chemistry; Physics and Astronomy), Steve Lindaas (Physics and Astronomy), and Teresa Shume (School of Teaching and Learning).
