Level II Anti-Racism Training Opportunity at MSUM

The MSUM TOCAR Initiative, (Training Our Campuses Against Racism) is sponsoring a two-and-1/2-day in-depth Anti-Racism Training to be held on the MSUM campus in March. This training will engage participants in discussions of: definitions of racism, particularly understanding institutional and systemic racism; disadvantage, power, and privilege issues related to racism; anti-racist/multicultural organizational development; and strategies to promote organizational development and change. Town hall meetings Tuesday

President Szymanski will host Campus Town Hall meetings Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at 6:30 a.m. (OW 201), 10:00 a.m. (CMU Ballroom), and 3:00 p.m. (CMU Ballroom). Everyone is invited to attend a meeting. In addition to the town hall meetings, President Edna will hold open office hours in OW 203 on the following dates: Wednesday, December 16 from 8-11 a.m. and Thursday, December 17 from 1-4 p.m. Employees are invited to share their concerns and suggestions with her individually during these times. 450 Expected to Graduate from MSUM Dec. 18

The Fall Semester commencement ceremony will take place next Friday, December 18th, at 2:00 p.m. in Nemzek Fieldhouse. 453 students have applied for graduation. More than half are expected to participate in the ceremony. Alumna Tammy Miller will be the commencement speaker. She has a BS in accounting (1982) and an MBA (1996) from MSU Moorhead. She has received two distinguished alumna awards from her alma mater. Miller is leading MSUM’s Major Gifts Initiative to fund scholarships and the new campus wellness center.
