Hansen Participates In Joint Annual Meeting of Economists In Washington, D.C.

T. J. Hansen, Economics, participated in the Joint Annual Meeting of the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association (AAEA) and the Canadian Agricultural Economics Society (CAES) in Washington, D.C., August 4-6. Members of these organizations specialize in applied economics research focused on agriculture and the environment, growth and development, and rural and regional economies.

Recent Death: Former Economics Professor Eugene Philipps

Professor Eugene A. Philipps, 81, Moorhead, Minn., died on Saturday, August 17, 2013, in Villa Maria Nursing Home, Fargo, N.D. In 1966 he joined the Moorhead Economics faculty and in 1967 became departmental chairman, a position he held until 1974. During his tenure, the Department grew to seven full-time members.
