Economics alum presents on campus

Amy (Kemp) Miller, class of 2009, visited the economics department and presented in Professor Oscar Flores’ econometrics class. Miller was invited back as a member of the department’s new Economics Alumni Board.

Miller is a marketing analytics consultant at Pinpoint Systems in Minneapolis and is currently consulting at Sears. Her company helps other businesses link marketing actions to financial results. She credited MSUM and her strong background in economics and mathematics as reasons for her success. Miller provided the students with these bits of advice:

1. Get up early, eat breakfast and exercise.
2. Be ambitious, confident and be sure to network.
3. Lower your near-term expectations and work hard to reach your long-term goals.
