Students from the Communication, Technology, and Culture class (School of Communication and Journalism) presented their research projects at the University of St. Thomas Undergraduate Communication Research Conference on Friday, April 24th, in St. Paul.
Aaron Quanbeck, an Associate Professor from the School of Communication and Journalism, presented his award-winning paper at the Broadcast Education Association’s national convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. BEA recognized Quanbeck’s research as the top debut paper in its Historical Division.
Three teams of MSUM students involved in the Public Relations Student Society of America’s national Batemen Case Study competition placed in the final finish, receiving honorable mentions. Most schools enter one or two teams, but MSUM entered four, all under the direction of Professor Liz Conmy, who uses the Bateman Case Study campaign as a capstone project.
The Society for Professional Journalists and the Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association have both given first place honors to MSUM’s Campus News in the student newscast category.
