Art Education Majors Graduating with AI Certification

Senior Art Education Major, Annabelle Matthews is believed to be the first MSUM student who will graduate having achieved an AI Certification this spring. Annabelle completed all 4 Teacher certification levels and an image generation certification for the Magic School AI platform this fall. Magic School is the world’s largest and most robust AI platform for schools in the world. Through the certification process, Annabelle learned how to use AI in her work as a future educator as well as create a classroom interface where she can control what tools she wants students to safely and ethically use in her future classroom. Educators use MagicSchool to help lesson plan, differentiate, write assessments, write IEPs, communicate clearly, and more. The Magic School student-facing tools have been proven to increase student academic achievement and build AI literacy with responsible AI experiences constructed and monitored by teachers. Annabelle will be student teaching this spring semester and bring her AI expertise to regional schools and students shortly. All of Professor Brad Bachmeier’s Art Education Majors will have an opportunity to graduate with the Magic School AI Certification starting this spring by completing it during their Art 402 Advanced Methods course.
