School Psychology faculty, graduate students attend and present at NASP conference

School Psychology faculty Olivia Melroe, Margaret Potter, and Lisa Stewart, along with 12 School Psychology graduate students, attended the National Association of School Psychology (NASP) conference February 20-24 in San Antonio, Texas. The faculty also attended the Trainers of School Psychology conference while in San Antonio. In addition to attending the conference, graduate student Tia Marthaler (advised by Dr. Potter and Dr. Stewart) presented a poster titled, “Pictures and Praise: Improving Behavior of a Kindergarten ELL Student” and Dr. Melroe was part of a symposium titled, “Future Directions of the the Indigenous Conceptual Framework.”

Graduate students were able to attend sessions, meet with graduate students from programs throughout the country, network with future employers and connect with School Psychology mentors at the conference. Other conference highlights included the keynote speaker, Dr. Tererai Trent, and meeting Gumby (who, like school psychologists, is flexible, friendly and fun!).
