Economics students present at Eastern Economic Association meetings

Three Economics students presented at the undergraduate student sessions of the Eastern Economic Association meetings in New York City. Cody Rittenhouse studied the relationship between business climate across states and poverty rates; Cody found that states with better business climate as measured by Forbes magazine have lower poverty rates. Aaron Vanyo developed a Genuine Progress Indicator for Minnesota. Matthew Dakken studied the impact of Jim Cramer’s buy recommendations on the price of stocks; Matt found increases in the short-term prices of stocks recommended by Jim Cramer.
