Legacy Film Festival Feb. 6
The Legacy Film Festival is a film festival for students, run by students. It aims to honor the lives and careers of Rusty Casselton and Ted Larson, two MSUM film professors who dedicated their lives to film students. The film festival will be held Saturday, Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. in MSUM’s Weld Hall Glasrud Auditorium.
The Legacy Film Festival is the brainchild of a group of senior film students. The students’ goal is threefold:
- To honor and remember Ted and Rusty in the best way they know how: through film!
- To create a campus festival experience for student filmmakers that is run by film students.
- To raise funds for the Casselton Memorial Fund and the Ted Larson Legacy Fund, both of which provide financial support and scholarships to MSUM Film Studies students.
Additionally, we are honoring the students selected to exhibit work. Local businesses and partners have donated prizes for the students. Some of these gracious partners include the Fargo Theatre, the Fargo Film Festival, Take Two Video, VidCycle, and West Acres.
Please come out and see the students’ work. The event is free, open to the public, with donations to the Casselton Memorial Endowment and Ted Larson Legacy Endowment gratefully accepted. Light food and refreshments will be served after the screening, at which time you can socialize with the filmmakers.
The students are eager to show their new film and video work to a crowd of supportive cinema enthusiasts.
