First-gen feature: Jonathan Heiberg masters first-generation education
On National First-Gen Day, we celebrate the remarkable resilience of first-generation college students. At MSUM, more than 40% of our undergraduates are first-gen students. We applaud their perseverance as they pursue their dreams.
Jonathan Heiberg is a first-generation student who is also the first in his family to pursue a graduate degree. He’s in MSUM’s Master of Healthcare Administration program.
He says, “Don’t be afraid of going above and beyond what has been done in your family. It might be scary and uncharted territory, but it’ll make your future much better and more fruitful than you could imagine.”
