MSUM GO! TEAM a finalist for NACMA Marketing Team of the Year with 9 ‘Best Of’ Awards + Sports Video Group Award Finalist
MOORHEAD, Minn. — The National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) has honored the MSUM GO! TEAM with nine ‘Best of’ Awards for 2022-23, pushing their total to 36 national awards since 2014. These awards placed MSUM as one of three finalists for NACMA Marketing Team of the Year sponsored by Presto Sports.
“We are extremely proud of our staff and the GO! TEAM students who work incredibly hard to make MSUM National Champions in the things we do behind the scenes,” said MSUM athletics director Chad Markuson. “The GO! TEAM are the storytellers of our student-athletes, coaches, and staff and they continue to make a major impact on the student-athlete experience here at MSUM.”
Leading the GO! TEAM is assistant athletics director Jon Wepking who said, “This is an unreal honor from NACMA and an incredible testament to the GO! TEAM and their ability to attack challenges head-on with creative innovations and high-level execution. Have to thank the MSUM Foundation, Amanda Citrowski and the MSUM Box Office team, First Year Programs, Slate for Teams, Nolan Schmidt, Doug Peters, Chris Needam and Dragon Football, Dustin Eichten, Alex Nelson, and of course our amazing student-athletes, sponsors, and supporters for making this possible. Of course a big thanks to the whole GO! TEAM who share every success because without every little thing they do, we would not be able to push these ideas to this level.”

The National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) has announced the top three submissions in each group will be recognized for their marketing efforts in 2023. One team in each group will be named the 2023 Marketing Team of the Year, presented by PrestoSports.
In its eleventh year, the nominations for the Marketing Team of the Year Award spanned across a diverse amount of divisions throughout our Association’s membership. The NACMA Marketing Team of the Year Award was created to show the type of impact that a marketing team has, not only in the athletics department, but the campus and surrounding communities as well. The finalists for this award were carefully selected by NACMA Past Presidents.
“The Marketing Team of the Year award, presented by PrestoSports, is the pinnacle achievement that a member school can be awarded, and this year we are proud to expand this honor across three separate groups,” said Brad Wurthman, NACMA 1st Vice President and Senior Associate AD for External Operations at Virginia Tech. “The work by all of our participating schools and our 2023 finalists is exceptional and a true inspiration for all of us to learn and grow from.”
Based upon points awarded for total number and rank of ‘Best Of’ Awards, finalists will be selected for Marketing Team of the Year presented by Presto Sports. In previous years, the Marketing Team of the Year was open to all institutions. This year, the award was broken similarly to the awards into three groups.
MSUM falls into Group III which represents all Division II Institutions, Division III Institutions, NAIA Institutions, Junior College Institutions, Community College Institutions, and Canadian Institutions.
