Fourteen students attended the MN chapter annual meeting of The Wildlife Society at Maplelag Resort in Calloway, Minn., Feb. 14-16. The students presented seven posters and networked with professionals in the wildlife and land management professions, as well as potential graduate school options. Other meeting events included a student-professional mixer, the society’s annual business meeting, and the Quiz Bowl, in which students from different universities form teams for a wildlife trivia competition. Struggling with depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts? Lutheran Campus Ministry is hosting “Invisible Chaos,” an evening to discuss mental health issues faced by many students. “Invisible Chaos” will be held Wednesday, Feb. 22 from 7:30-9 p.m. in Weld Hall.
Students will be sharing their personal stories, followed by a panel discussion with students and faculty. All are welcome. Refreshments will be served. Free and open to the public.
During the month of February, the Economic Society is hosting a phone drive for the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center in support of preventing Rape and Abuse of all types. Donate your unwanted cellphones, cellphone accessories, and chargers at one of our donation boxes across campus. All donations by the Economic Society and Soroptimists International of Moorhead will go to the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center clients to either be used as quick access to 911 or to be sold to raise funds for their needs.

We will be talking about an article published years ago by the National Stuttering Association (NSA) included some observed “recurring characteristics” of people who stutter. Included on the list was “people who stutter are afraid to make mistakes and taking responsibility for making decisions.” Does that opinion match your observations or self-reflections?
