Two MSUM Physics Students Present Poster at National Meeting

Brett Schulz and Maxibillion Thompson presented a poster at the Annual Meeting of the American Association of Variable Star Observers ((AAVSO) in Boston, MA on Nov 6-7. Max reported on the measurement of the time of transit of an exoplanet, which is a planet orbiting around another star. Brett presented a technique for combining his measurements of a variable star with those from  other projects. Both students used data taken at MSUM’s observatory at the Regional Science Center. The trip was supported by the College of Science, Health & the Environment and by Student Senate. The students were advised by Matt Craig, Department of Physics and Astronomy.  Image: Max, Brett, Dr. Craig, and Dr. Stella Kafka, CEO of the AAVSO.
