Changes to Library operations

This fall, the Livingston Lord Library is implementing additional protective measures to keep our students, staff, and faculty safe. We will open for the semester on Monday, August 17.

Changes include:

• Beginning Monday, August 24, our hours of operation will be: Monday-Thursday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.;
• to ensure social distancing, furniture has been both removed and spaced out;
• library study rooms on the 1st and 2nd floors are still available on a first-come-first-served basis, but maximum occupancy is noted on each room;
• 3rd & 4th floors will be closed and any materials you need from those floors can be retrieved by a library employee;
• per the statewide mandate, masks are required when entering the building and to receive service;
• library classroom 208 will be open for scheduled classes only, and classroom 113 will remain closed. The 24-hour lab will still be available;
• high traffic areas and computer stations will be cleaned several times throughout the day, and you’ll know a computer station is clean when you see the mouse and mouse pad on top of the keyboard;
• any updates, as well as more information on library services, will be posted on the LLL’s COVID-19 information page at https://libguides.mnstate.edu/COVID-19.

Beginning August 23, the IT Help Desk hours will be:

• Monday – Thursday 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.;
• Friday 8 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.;
• Weekends 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. (access through the northeast door closest to the CMU and the M5 parking lot. The rest of the library will be closed on weekends.)
