A Tri-College History Lecture featuring History Professor Nathan Clarke, Ph.D., will be held Tuesday, April 30 at 7 p.m. in the Center for Business 111.

The title of his talk is “Chimbote: Social, Economic, and Ecological Struggles on a Commodity Frontier.”

Chimbote is the center of Peru’s fishing industry and one of the world’s largest. In this talk, Dr. Clarke looks at the relationship between the North American and European diet, Peru’s natural resources, and the demands of export-led development in the transformation of Chimbote between 1940-1980.
