Anti-Racism in Higher Education Training

Thursday, Sept. 28 | 6–10 p.m. | CMU 205 or Friday, Sept. 29 | 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. | CMU 205

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion is excited to host Debra Leigh from High Impact Training to facilitate two “Anti-Racism in Higher Education” training sessions for MSUM students. The training will cover the topics of diversity (what it is, why it is important), racism (what it is, where it comes from, different types), relevant concepts (privilege, bias, oppression, etc.), how to address and resolve conflict, how to navigate difficult conversations, how to be an effective ally, and bystander intervention.

Space is limited and registration is required. Both sessions will cover the same material, so only register for one session if you plan to participate. Only the Friday session will offer lunch, please plan accordingly. Both undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to attend. Register by Friday, Sept. 22 through the Office of Diversity and Inclusion’s DragonCentral page, or by visiting the following link: https://mnstate.campuslabs.com/engage/submitter/form/start/137516.
