Economic Society members, faculty advisors present workshop at 2017 Expanding Your Horizons Conference

MSUM Economic Society members (Moyinoluwa Abiola, Alexander Johnson, Aleena Kearns, Josh Noennig, Rahil Pereira, and McKenna Togstad) and co-advisors Drs. T. J. Hansen and Gregory Stutes presented the workshop, “Operation Economics,” as part of the Expanding Your Horizons Conference on April 8. This conference invites young women in the seventh, eighth, and ninth grades in Minnesota and North Dakota to a day of career exploration workshops focused on the development of mathematical and critical thinking skills. In the “Operation Economics” workshop, young women learned about the impact of specialization on international trade by participating in a trading simulation with members of the Economic Society.
