‘The Latehomecomer’ Author Visit on Oct. 14
Friday, Oct. 14 | 7 p.m. | CMU Ballroom
Join us on Friday, Oct. 14, for a presentation and book signing by author Kao Kalia Yang. Her book “The Latehomecomer” is this year’s One Book One Community selection, a joint project sponsored by all the libraries in the Fargo, Moorhead, and West Fargo areas.
A firsthand account of the immigrant experience from the Hmong perspective, this book chronicles the journey of the author’s family from a refugee camp in Thailand to America. This book addresses the universal themes of family and love while sharing the family’s struggle to adapt in a strange culture while holding onto traditions that are passed down from Yang’s beloved grandmother.
The program will start at 7 p.m. in MSUM’s Comstock Memorial Union Ballroom. Doors open at 6 p.m. and seating is first come, first served, so arriving early is encouraged. It is free and open to the public.
