‘Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet’ book discussion

Join us in the Library Porch for an informal book discussion of Jamie Ford’s “Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet“, at 3 p.m. on Thursday, October 12. Centered on themes of commitment and hope, this novel examines the cruelty of racism and the blindness of patriotism, set during one of the most conflicted and confusing times in American history. This is part of One Book, One Community, a collaborative reading project sponsored by the area’s university and public libraries, including MSUM’s Livingston Lord Library.

Suggest books for One Book One Community project

If you could ask everyone in Fargo-Moorhead to read a book, what would it be? The One Book One Community project is seeking suggestions for the book to be read throughout Fargo-Moorhead in 2017. MSUM’s Livingston Lord Library is one of the participants, along with the other public and university libraries in the region. Put in your suggestions at the Check-Out Desk at the MSUM library, or go to the website by Tuesday, Jan. 31, to make your opinion known.

‘The Latehomecomer’ Author Visit on Oct. 14
